What is going on here?
the real singapore website is a website where anybody can easily contribute to it about singapore. It covers topic such as singapore politic or races. This news suddenly became a issue when Media development authority(MDA) decided to shut the website down. So.. is this an act of unreasonable censorship or really an act to stop potential hatred and chaos from an website.
My opinion:
From what i heard and understand... therealsingapore has no form of editorial screening of the contribution post. This leads to the easy spread of hatred, unfounded rumors about issue, insensitive racial comment. Personally, i have seen one of my was really convinced about the post in the website and always speak bad things about Singapore. I have no idea whether what therealsingapore are providing is real or not, regardless of me really have visited the website before or not. However, the issue of this does raise the question of does Singapore is having authoritative form of censorship.
*Note* personally i have never visited the website before,so information discussed here can be easily wrong.

What is going on here?
This comic strap is created by Toby Morris about how people in our society nowadays is so plugged into social media that we seems to have forgotten to just look at the world in front of us.
My thoughts:
Social media and internet has allowed us to engaged ourselves with information and people we want to be connected with a lot easier than the world has ever done before. Everything is instantaneous.
However, while in the midst of looking at what our friend shared, looking for excitement in the internet , or just trying to pass time with. We are so focused on our little world told by the little screen in our hand and commentated by the ever excited mind , we forgot to look around at the actual world. We could be missing what the life is trying to offer us. Perhaps life wasn't wasn't exciting ,but rather we just failed to appreciate it in its simplest form. To simply observe and be in the moment.
It is truly an ironic that social media has always boast about how it can connect the world together, well it truly does connect us together. However, what really defines a connection is lost somehow, and heart to heart communication. We care more about what we want to share online and what others are doing than really caring about what is happening to our environment, close relative and friend and truly be there to support them.
Social media isnt bad in my opinon, but we just need to set our mind straight on what we really should care about in our life and don't get lead astray without realizing.

What is going on here?
This comic strip is created by Toby Morris, in here he is describing about opportunity inequality. Two people given the similar effort, but simply due to birth, the privilege and opportunity given ultimately leading them into vastly different wealth.
My Thoughts:
Singapore has been boasting its policy of equal opportunity for all such as the policy of meritocracy. While education is reasonable platform to decide who to have the better privilege and opportunity from the cooperate world, however fundamentally there are still many factors influencing who will have better opportunity for the education itself, just like how the comic illustrated.
A future filled with wealth can be a result of a spark of luck or ingenuity, like founder of Facebook. However, we cannot talk about those, since those come by in the unexpected fashion. Realistically speaking, the opportunity directly influencing us would be our environment itself. The place we born in, the parent we have, the friend we made, the decision we choose, all slowly shape our destiny.
Perhaps just like the girl in the comic, despite working just as hard or maybe even more than the guy, due to the opportunity she is born in, she cannot outdo the guy.
In conclusion, as a society/community, we wouldn't be able to make decision for others, however we can definitely help by cultivating and encouraging a healthy, positive, loving community for all people. Supporting social welfare cause, and equality between people are steps we can take to move towards a more equal opportunity world.

What are we doing?
Frequently, as per every mundane day;everyday life goes on. Going to school, doing homework, sleeping, eating, playing. Rinse and repeat, without stopping. There nothing to think about except what to play, what to eat, what to do about work. Rinse and repeat.....it is almost as if we are lifeless even though we are life itself.
Are we being sedated?
Everyday we are busy looking that flashing screen which shows us the world we cannot go.It integrate into our life so well that we cannot let go off it. It follows us even to work, bath, even before sleep. Everytime i walk into MRT train, out of 15 people ,there is always at least 10 person staring into their phone without a slight shift in their eye. We have become so self-absorbed into our tiny little world that all we care about is our self and the world we hold in the little screen.
The urban life around us is just as spell-blinding as our phone. The Tv bombard us with advertisement ,movie, drama, news. Our work constantly blind us with work and worry. The world we currently live in is almost as if a massive spell-blinding illusion blinding us from something.
Every advertisement about food talk about how nutritious, delicious looking they are,but never about the suffer the worker and animal suffered to let us have the food. Animal are being slaughtered, drugged, raise in cattle for us.
In supermarket, we have an abundant of food, yet it doesn't seems to be able to satisfy our desire. Thus, we have more, excessive supplier. We destroy forest, mountain, sea, and space to fulfill our desire. It is almost as if we can never be fulfilled. We live as if there ain't other lifeform. No... more of like most of us doesn't want to care about others. We are living as if we can always have a second chance in everything we do. Much like how we go on everyday. there is always another day,yet we never know when we will die.
There are much suffering out in the world, such as people in africa is suffering from lack of basic food and water, yet we are doing nothing... care about our little worry and problems.
The media isn't concerned with these problems in the world, therefore we rarely we such news being rise up. One have to think that maybe all these are act of controlling masses right under out nose.
At large, are we being fed with distraction from suffering using media and work? is the condition of the world being re-framed as a better world than before? We associating positive image such as inter-connectivity with internationally even though we can hardly connect with someone just beside us.
Our generation itself is almost as if being sedated, brainwashed, by media itself. But... the question is what can we do... or should i say.... should we do something?
